About this event

Engagement on the City’s Park Plan is underway from January 6 through 20, 2022, to help assess the City’s current park system and determine future land needs as Guelph grows.

A Park Plan is needed to ensure we have an optimal level of service for City parks that is accessible to all residents as we grow—this is the amount and type of parks that meet community needs and desires and is sustainable, affordable and realistic.

The Park Plan is a continuation of the conversations that have fed into the Parks and Recreation Master Plan (under development) and aims to address time-sensitive legislative changes to the Parkland Dedication Bylaw required before September 2022.

In these sessions, we will:

- Present information about the park plan, how we got to this point ad what will happen next.

- Learn about your needs and ideas around parks, including:

  • If your park needs have changed during the COVID-19 pandemic and as Guelph grows;
  • How we can use parkland more efficiently or reshape existing spaces for new park needs;
  • Your ideas about how or where we could grow our park system as our population grows; and
  • Other questions or advice you may have as the Park Plan is updated and integrated into the larger Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

Two sessions are offered to suit your schedule. Please select the date that works best to you.
